The Message Feature

The Message Feature allows radio-users to select and transmit CPS-defined data messages to the Fixed Network Equipment (FNE) / dispatcher as a request or an indication that a significant event has occurred. Examples of messages are “SEND TOW TRUCK”, "LEAVING STATION”, etc. When the dispatcher receives the message, an appropriate response is sent. Upon receipt of this response, the radio provides audible and visual indications that the Message was acknowledged.
